The Cross-border Exchange of Health Data allows healthcare professionals in other countries access and view a patient’s key medical information in their local language.
Safety and Continuity: A unified database minimizes misdiagnosis and ensures continuous care across countries.
Secure Data Exchange: The OpenNCP platform, part of the EU’s eHealth Digital Service Infrastructure (eHDSI), enables secure data exchange, requiring countries to ensure digital readiness and integrate local systems, with Industry62 implementing it in Estonia and developing a portal for cross-border patient data access.
Easy Access: Health information is readily available, allowing doctors to quickly review medical histories.
Efficiency: Rapid data sharing reduces administrative time, enabling quicker treatment decisions.
Widespread Implementation: 25 European countries are joining the project, with 11 already using the service daily.
