Zetes’ Milestones in Identity Solutions
- 2002: With the Belgian eID project, Zetes was one of the first companies in the world to issue official eID cards to Citizens. Since then, Zetes remained the Belgian government’s partner for the issuance of eID , securing contracts for ePassports, driver’s licenses, residence permits, and diplomatic cards.
- 2005: Zetes was the first company to deploy a large-scale biometric population enrolment campaign on the African continent. Among many other similar projects.
- 2008: Successfully began operating the Ivorian ePassport concession, ensuring secure identity issuance.
- 2017: Zetes became a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP), delivering Trust Services to the private sector.
- 2020: Established the Federal Kingdom of Belgium’s own QTSP, operating under PPP/BOT type of agreement.
- 2024: The Police and Border Guard Board of Estonia awarded the Citizen PKI tendering procedure to Zetes. Zetes established a local branch and is now in the process of implementing Zetes Estonia as an Estonian QTSP to start issuing certificates by the end of 2025.
Shaping the Future of Digital Identity
As part of EU Regulation eIDAS v2, Zetes is also playing a key role in implementing critical components of the Belgian Digital Identity Wallet, reinforcing its position as a leader in secure identity solutions.
